There are 4 seasons.
In the summer, bugs are brutal. Chiggers, mosquitoes, and ticks. Use bug spray.
It gets VERY cold in the winter. Get a nice coat that is warm. If possible, consider waiting until you are in the mission to buy a coat. It will save room in your suitcase and they have the right kind of coats for sale there.
The key to staying warm is layering. Use thermals (or fleece lined tights or both), sweaters, hats, gloves, etc.
Get good lined boots. Blundstones and Sorels are most highly recommended for Elders and Sisters.
