Albania map outline

Albania is really humid and can be scorching in the summer (on the coast), and it is rainy and cold in the winter.

The summer humidity can make you change shirts several times a day (Sisters and Elders), so bring extra than recommended. For Elders: a good guide is 1/2 short sleeved, 1/2 long sleeved shirts.

Good rain boots or waterproof boots are important. Blundstone boots have often been recommended as a good boot to pack. Also Sorel boots.

Get a reliable, waterproof coat.

Packages are difficult to receive (but not impossible), so try to pack everything needed for the mission, including gifts.

There are good opportunities for local shopping for dresses and toiletries and all the essentials, but harder for Elders to find pants and dress shirts, so send a few extra.

Albanians are a humble people who love foreigners.
