The mission home is in Croatia, but the missionaries are sent out to serve in several different countries, and could be asked to switch languages. They can pick up several additional languages- Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, Albanian- while serving here. While these languages are difficult, give yourself time to learn, and you will get it!
It is a BEAUTIFUL mission to serve in.
The weather can vary greatly depending on which area you are serving in. The coastal areas have hot and sunny summers and mild, damp, rainy winters (but rarely below freezing). Slovenia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzgovenia have warm and humid summers with afternoon thunderstorms common and cold and snowy winters with subfreezing temperatures and lots of snow.
Prepare clothing for all seasons.
Rain gear and Waterproof boots are a must. A heavy winter coat as well.
Bring a couple sets of pday activity clothes suitable for hiking and exploring.
Sisters: Feminine hygiene products are pretty easily found. Pads and tampons without applicators are most common, though. If you are more used to tampons with applicators, you might want to consider bringing some along.
