Georgia Atlanta North Mission

georgia map outline

Climate: Hot and Humid. There are days that require a sweater or sometimes even a coat, though. For Sisters: the summers are HOT, so light dresses that don't require layering is ideal. Sisters use a lot more dresses than pants, but a couple pair of pants in the winter is nice. The sisters closets are full of left-behind dresses too. Rain Jackets and good rain boots are very helpful. Most of the mission is driving instead of biking. There are a lot of bugs and bug bites. There are a lot of service opportunites, so clothing you can work in, including work gloves is helpful.

Mission-Specific Recommendations
Hunter Boots $125–$155

Already waterproof out of the box — really nice for rainy areas where you don't need a thicker boot for warmth.

Region Recommendations
Serve
Serve $50–$55/shirt

Serve shirts have a ventilation panel in the side of the shirt making them noticeably more breathable. Missionaries serving in hot or humid places absolutely RAVE about this feature. The most popular shirt for hot-climate missions, for sure.
