It is very hot and humid.
No suit needed, just short sleeved shirts and golf pants that are light weight and moisture wicking.
There are some cars and driving in this mission, but mostly missionaries walk everywhere, so bring shoes that are comfortable for that.
Bring at least 2 pair of sandals. Brands mentioned are Tevas, Timberlands, or fisherman type sandals.
You usually hand wash clothing, so rubber gloves might come in handy for laundry. There are some apartments with washers, but it just depends on the area served. Some apartments in Lusaka have dishwashers as well.
Bring a hat.
Power is sometimes hit or miss, so a rechargeable solar fan and extra power banks are wonderful to have. There are some that can also be used as a flashlight and to charge phones, which is super helpful. A headlamp or solar lantern could also be used.
Running water can also sometimes be a problem. While missionaries have access to filtered water in the apartment, a filtration water bottle with extra filters can be super useful here.
Make sure you take your doxycycline medication. Malaria is no joke. Consider bringing a probiotic to help with the gut.

Tips on Vaccinations like Yellow Fever and Typhoid: The cheapest options mentioned are Costco, GoodRX (request coupon), Walgreens, and County Health Department. You often have to request these vaccines and may have to pay for a travel consult. One helpful tip is to ask your doctor to send in a prescription for the vaccinations — some have had insurance cover the cost that way. Because of taking Doxycycline daily to prevent Malaria, probiotics have been recommended as very helpful for gut health. The Doxy also makes you more susceptible to the sun, so sunscreen is important.
Serve shirts have a ventilation panel in the side of the shirt making them noticeably more breathable. Missionaries serving in hot or humid places absolutely RAVE about this feature. The most popular shirt for hot-climate missions, for sure.
