Sheepskin mittens are also nice. Thermal garments or underclothing is recommended for the winter. Heated vests and gloves are also very useful. You will want gloves, a toque, and warm socks. But layering is key.
Many suggest waiting to buy a coat once there if possible since they have items that fit the climate.
Lots also prefer a 3-in-1 to a bigger coat. With this mission largely being a driving mission, they like the versatility of the layers better.
Most of the missionaries (Elders and Sisters) wear Blundstone winter-lined boots. It is seriously the most recommended boot for all of Canada.

By far the most mentioned boots in ALL missionary threads. It is a Chelsea boot style. A thermal version is available for really cold climates. I haven't found a negative review of Blundstones. Many missionaries say these lasted their entire mission and still look nice.
