Argentina Buenos Aires East Mission
Argentina · South America
Argentina map outline

Weather: It rains a lot, so a good umbrella is nice.

Clothing: Washable suits are best. They won't have access to fancy cleaning options, so save money for better shoes than an expensive suit.
Golf pants that are light work best for humid climates.

Shoes: They do A LOT of walking! Bring at least 2 pair of waterproof boots, dress shoes (Ecco) for church, tennis shoes, and flip flops for the shower.
Use good socks. Darn Tough socks have saved feet from blisters and hold up really nicely.
Rubber boots that go over the shoe and up to the knees is helpful for the rain and flooded streets, but not essential.
Nice things to have:
There are a lot of stray dogs, so a dog deterrent is great.
Mosquito repellent and cortisone cream for bites.
Bluetooth keyboard

Notes about the South America region

Most parents send their Elders with at least 1 suit (most countries in South America only wear suits to church and meetings) and around 8–10 golf pants. Families are sending more shirts because of heat and humidity — 12–14 is the average. Note for Sisters serving in Brazil: feminine hygiene products are expensive there and tampons are often considered taboo. Be prepared to send a good supply with your Sister Missionary.

Region Recommendations
Serve
Serve $50–$55/shirt

Serve shirts have a ventilation panel in the side of the shirt making them noticeably more breathable. Missionaries serving in hot or humid places absolutely RAVE about this feature. The most popular shirt for hot-climate missions, for sure.
